“ I came here for a work dinner, having read many recommendations about Goode Co. being way better than the well-known El Tiempo and Ninfa's. My boss was visiting from Europe and her favorite is Mexican, so I wanted to show her a Houston Tex-Mex favorite. On a Monday night, they were fairly busy with a couple of birthdays being celebrated. The restaurant layout is slightly confusing. The parking lot is a horseshoe around the restaurant building, and you enter in through the back side (away from I-10), then walk halfway through the building and between tables to get to the hostess stand that leads to the main dining area. We were a bit confused on this as first-timers but hopefully these instructions will help someone! Upon being seated, we were served complimentary chips and salsa. They only have red salsa and no green. The chips were hot and crispy, and tasted great dipped in the red salsa. For drinks, we ordered margaritas. They have multiple sizes - I got the pint (medium) Damn Goode Margarita. This was a good margarita, but had a lot of ice, so the margarita serving itself was much smaller compared to the cup. Probably my fault for ordering on the rocks instead of frozen. As an appetizer, we shared the regular chile con queso with no add-ons. It was served with a portion of fried flour tortilla chips, which paired well with the silky queso. The serving size was very generous. For my entree, I ordered the No. 2, which comes with your choice of taco al carbon (beef, chicken, or carnitas), a chicken enchilada, and a tamale. The portion was huge, and I struggled to finish it after downing a bunch of chips, salsa, and queso. I chose the beef for my taco al carbon, and it was filled with fajita meat, served with fajita fixins. The tamale was very tasty and I liked the taste of their masa. The enchilada was likewise very good. My main complaint here was that our server was overly attentive. This isn't a bad problem to have, but it became borderline annoying and we felt rushed. I was having a 1 on 1 dinner with my boss and we were deeply engaged in conversation, but our waitress constantly came by. At the start of the meal, we hadn't even had a chance to look at the menu and she came by twice ready to take our drink orders. Upon getting our margaritas, we wanted to enjoy them with our chips and salsa, but our waitress came by another couple times to ask if we were ready to order. Even if it wasn't her intention, the perception was that she was rushing us to order, eat, and GTFO. This was slightly embarrassing with my boss from Europe, where the custom is to sit and leisurely enjoy your meal with your company over 2+ hours. I'm glad I have now found another good option for Tex Mex in Houston. The well-known option in the city have grown their prices to become very steep, and the prices here were actually somewhat reasonable. The food quality was really good and I'd be down to try more. With my main issue here being with our server, I'm hoping this was specific to her and not the entire waitstaff. I'll definitely be back, either here or their other locations, to try more of their dishes. ”

“ Hadn't been here in an awhile, but they never disappoint. The service was fast, the food was good, and the drinks were strong. Even though the restaurant was busy, our server, LaKenya, didn't miss a beat. She was very friendly and checked on us regularly. The kitchen was rocking and rolling. They ended up sending out our fajitas too quick, but the plates are hot and continue to cook. We wanted medium rare, so had we kept them, by the time we started to eat they'd be well done. Without hesitation, La Kenya took them back and told us to let her know when we were ready. I actually almost said we'd just keep them, but the look on my face must've said something different. La Kenya reassured me that it was ok and took them back. Food: Queso- was a little thick for me, but I always add salsa Fajitas - cooked to perfection Category 5 Tortilla soup - my absolute favorite. I add in all the extras ”

“ Even though this is located on the Katy Freeway feeder, the door faces the opposite direction and feels like a hideaway for upper class Bunker Hill types. We love sitting at the Bar which has an elegant hunting lodge vibe and sharing a plate of Fajitas. My husband loves their spicy Margaritas made with poblano liqueur and taijin seasoning. The chips are great and go well with the warm salsa. Goode Co Cantina has a playground outside so that's where the families with small kids tend to congregate, making the bar area a relatively peaceful place to eat and drink. ”

“ Service and interior atmosphere is really great! Our server was very friendly and nice. The chips and salsa is really the star of our meal here during our latest visit. A couple friends wanted to try out some good fajitas around the area and Goode Co came to mind. The beef fajitas were delicious. It's probably just not possible since there were multiple meats on the plate but unfortunately the plate did not come out sizzling like we are used to seeing. ”

“ Mexican dining elevated. Service and atmosphere: This is very modern and stylish restaurant with great references to Mexico throughout. They offer many seating options. There is also outside patio space to enjoy in the evening. The restaurant has swanky bar area at the entrance. Food and drinks: They have well designed menu with many familiar Mexican dishes and drinks. The food was prepared very well and was nicely presented as well. Good flavours and seasoning gave this Tex Mex food extra depth. Without going into too much details, both dishes were ordered were very tasty. Pricing: $$/$$$ and definitely worth it to come back here for more delicious food ”

“ A wonderful experience at Goode Co.! We ordered the queso and couldn't get enough of the delicious thick chips and pickled jalapeños that come with it- the perfect queso combo! I also tried the No. 2 plate, which was a variety platter. Everything was delicious! Our waiter was very friendly, and service was excellent. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Houston! ”

My bestie and I go visit him once a week and knows what we want when we want. A waiter, so personable is refreshing to see now days! Goode Co is lucky to have him because he is the reason for us coming back. I recommend having him as a waiter next time as long as I'm not there! ”
